Jose summed it up very well. Balls. Chelsea were certainly lacking them in the visit to Shell Suit Park in a 1-0 defeat to the Stripey Nigels as some of our players went missing. In what was arguably the worst performance of the season, our loss to a spirited and committed Palace side has almost certainly put paid to our title challenge this season – well at least Jose thinks so. Oh well we’ll just have to win the Champions League then!
As always we have a look at Ross’ player ratings for the Palace game discuss the strange case of missing players and ask whether it is the lack of decent strikers or our inability to break stubborn teams down away from home that has scuppered our title challenge We also have this week’s Match Awards ‘The Fannies’ for the Palace game where we will be awarding our MOTM, COTM, Celery and Guinness moments.
Later in the show we have a look at who will be staying and who will be leaving in the summer, and Joe Tweeds from Plains of Almeria set us a challenge to choose a Chelsea XI with two players from each from the 1970’s; 1980’s; 1990’s, 2000’s and the 2010’s and a goal keeper from any decade.
