And the nominations are:

To be fair, the support and noise levels were not brilliant on Saturday – very sad to hear the silence in the ground after what proved to be Sunderland’s winning penalty, and indeed quite a few leaving. Thankfully there were many giving it to the referee and a few defiant and sarcastic chants to boot.

When the team is down that is when we need to get behind them, but I’m afraid the silence is all too symptomatic of modern football and entitlement syndrome. OK – rant over.

Can’t think of many better songs than the old skool ‘Fuck ’em All‘ when the chips are down – always been one of my favourites and basically says what needs to be said.

Mike Dean’s dreadful performance incurred the wrath of the MHL – who instead of questioning his parentage or bedroom habits, instead chose his Liverpool roots by inquiring: “Who’s the Scouser in the Black”.

Finally, in the Hand & Flower after the game, long-time listeners to the show Martin Wickham and Mr X came up with a hilarious song to the tune of the old ‘Dad’s Army song by Flanagan & Allan – “Who do you think you are kidding Mr Hitler” changing it to the following:

“Who do you think you are kidding Brendan Rodgers,if you think that Chelsea’s done, we are the boys who will stop your little game, we are the boys who will make you think again, so who do you think you are kidding Brendan Rodgers, if you think that Chelsea’s done!”

Got it going in the Hand & Flower, over to you all those going to Anfield next Sunday!
