Petr Cech 8 – Man of the Match – Followed up the PSG home game with another well earned clean sheet. Made a couple of excellent saves and claimed everything.
Branislav Ivanovic 7 – One of the few times this season Brana has outshone his fellow full back. Got down the Chelsea right and covered well at the back.
Gary Cahill 7 – Solid outing – not Cahill’s best game but he has set a high standard for himself this season.
John Terry 7 – One of Chelsea’s players of the season. Consistently good or better.
Cesar Azpilicueta 6 – Canny throw in for the goal. Allowed a couple of Swansea attacks down his side but decent overall.
Ramires 6 – Nothing wrong with his performance, but isn’t the player he was two years ago.
Nemanja Matic 7 – Another good all round game from the Serb. Well weighted pass to Ba for the goal.
Mo Salah 5 – Simultaneously Chelsea’s most dangerous and least effective player on the field. Intelligent runs got him into positions, but was wasteful.
Willian 7 – The hub of most Chelsea moves. Beat players in the centre of the park when he had to and made several clever passes.
Andre Schurrle 6 – Drew the foul for Chico Flores’ second yellow.
Demba Ba 7 – Strong run and finish for the goal. Could easily have had one or two more but flashed a header wide and shot over. Offers something Eto’o and Torres don’t.
Subs:
Samuel Eto’o 5 – Missed three chances but did work well for the team.
Oscar 6 – Good involvement and showed a little something alongside Matic as one of the two central midfielders in the second half.
John Mikel Obi 6 – Floated like a butterfly, did not sting like a bee.
