And the nominations are:

Nemanja Matic – Against Sporting Lisbon he ran the midfield assuredly and was always able to win, recycle and pass the ball on accurately. He also set up Schurrle’s goal. On Saturday v Hull he was his usual calm in the middle of the field showing us just what we had missed last week v Newcastle.

Jon Obi Mikel – A decent couple of games for our much maligned Nigerian. He blocked and distributed well and added a very rare goal in the second half – his first in Europe.  On Saturday, playing in place of the suspended Cesc Fabregas, he continued his decent form with a comfortable 90 minutes in the middle of the park without being able to recreate the creativity of Fabregas.

Eden Hazard – Scored a superb header – unusually for him – proving he can do anything! He was full of tricks, flicks and strong running, though even more impressive is how he almost always makes the right decisions. His build-up play for the second goal was mesmerizing

    Hazard

  2. Blue Yank says:

As much as my heart would choose Mikel, it has to be Hazard, who was central to every dangerous attack. He was sublime.
