Saturday sees Chelsea take on Arsenal at the Emirates, a fixture that in recent times has caused Chelsea more mirth than trepidation as we have repeatedly exerted our dominance. But will this continue…

Going back over the last 20 meetings at Arsenal they still have the upper hand with 11 wins to Chelsea’s 5 and 8 draws, although the last six meetings have seen 2 wins for Chelsea, 3 draws and one Arsenal win.

Overall the picture reflects Chelsea recent dominance with Chelsea unbeaten in the last 6 games (4 wins, 2 draws and not one goal conceded) and in fact over the last 20 meetings it is more even with 18 wins for Arsenal, 16 for Chelsea and  14 draws.

At home Arsenal have won 13 out of their last 20 games, scoring 36 goals and conceding 6 whilst Chelsea have won 8, drawn 6 and lost 6 (goals for 31, goals conceded 23).

If we look at the picture overall then form seems to be fairly even, Arsenal perhaps edging it. Arsenal have won 4 out of their last six (the only defeat being the 4-3 loss to Liverpool) and Chelsea have also lost only one of their last six – also to Liverpool last week. Its also fairly even going back to the last 20  at home and away: Arsenal won 10, drawn 7, lost 3; Chelsea won 8, drawn 8, lost 4.

The 10 game ultimate form guide makes gloomier reading for Chelsea fans with Arsenal edging it wins; losses; goals scored and conceded; clean sheets; conversion rate; goals for; shots per goal. But, this is Chelsea against Arsenal, we have Diego Costa to bully them just like Didier Drogba used to. Surely we’ll be all right, won’t we?
