Chant of the Match: Chelsea v Arsenal 22nd March

It is rare that we come up with three relatively new chants for ‘Chant of the Match’, but then again we don’t beat Arsenal 6-0 every week (more’s the pity!).

Apparently we didn’t sing until the last 10 mins according to the window licking, latte drinking, spreadsheet reading Goons. But trust me the atmosphere was decent and any lulls in the singing were due to stunned euphoria, and anyway how would the Goons know seeing as so many of them had left well before the end of the match. Delusion and jealousy make for unhappy bedfellows, but so would you’re average Arsenal fan I suspect!

Anyway, to the chants themselves. The usual combination of wit and vitriol was aimed at the hapless Goons and their Mr Bean-like Manager. But imagine what it would be like to not have Mr Wenger to take the piss out of any more? Horrible to contemplate isn’t it. As a result we belted out “We want you to stay, we want you to stay, Arsene Wenger, we want you to stay” just to remind him. No hint of irony of course!

This was followed up by an amusing new ditty kindly helping out Goons who may not know their way around our second home – Wembley: “we’ll draw you a map, we’ll draw you a map, Wembley stadium, we’ll draw you a map” was the helpful suggestion from the Shed and Matthew Harding ends.

Finally, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to remind Arsene Wenger of his special talent, as the stadium rang out with the sound of “specialists in failure, specialists in failure”.
