Guinness Moment: Aston Villa v Chelsea 15/03/2014

chelseavillas_ochq2xkyztuj1tgv670lfabluVery little of quality by Chelsea all match to be honest. No goals, only two shots on target not much ‘oooohhhhh’ at all.

But we have three nominations nevertheless!

Our first is for a lovely back heeled pass by Oscar which set up an attacking move down the left flank during the first half. Sadly the move didn’t end with a shot, or a goal – more likely it was wrongly given offside or a random Chelsea player was given a red card. It was that kind of game.

Just to stop Oscar upstaging him, Hazard also gets his customary Guinness nomination, also for a lovely back heeled pass. Sadly the move didn’t end with a….(see above!).

Our final nomination goes to Petr Cech who basically had nothing to do all match before picking the ball out of the onion bag. Shortly after that he made two great saves, one from a fierce drive from Benteke, and the second he somehow got something to the ball and pushed it up and against the post. It is for the later that he gets the nomination, not least for his undiminished ability to have the concentration to be there when called upon having been required to do nothing for the previous 85 minutes. Shame he couldn;t have got in the way of Delph’s lucky/brilliant (delete as appropriate) flicked back heel goal.
