However, Torres goal against Galatasary is definitely worth a shout – not least as it was a rare Torres goal. Having said that Torres does have a habit of scoring regularly in Europe so fair play to him. And it was a decent goal. A great run and cut back by the increasingly impressive Azpi was expertly finished away from his body by Torres for an all important away goal. Top class finish and it got me out of my seat (no mean feat these days!).
The second half against Fulham was all about two men. Eden Hazard and Andre Schurrle. As the saying goes, “you tee them up and I’ll hit ’em”, and that’s exactly what Eden Hazard did for Schurrle as he created two of his three goals. Torres came up with the other assist for the Jonny Bravo look alikes hat-trick. This is the third hat-trick scored by a Chelsea player this season (somewhat surprisingly), the others being Eto’0 and Hazard. Although a midfield player, all three of Schurrle’s goals were finished with the aplomb of a top class striker. Let’s hope that both Jose and Chelsea’s strikers take note – Schurrle could possibly do a job for us up front on this form. The Guinness nomination goes to Schurrle’s third and hat-trick completing goal – not necessarily the best of the three, but hat-trick’s are special whoever scores them and whoever they are against. And again it got me out of my seat in celebration.
