As always the Chelsea faithful did everything they could to make themselves heard during the Scouse National Anthem aka “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and did a fine job. Interestingly those listening to the match on the radio said they could hear Chelsea loud and clear during the game whereas on Liverpool loving Sky, it was less apparent, proving conclusively that Sky always put the mics away from the Chelsea end. Either downright bias or a cautionary measure so as not to offend young or prudish ears! Nothing like hearing Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea at Anfield though.
A brilliant response to Gerrard’s generosity from the Chelsea end: “He’s done it again, he’s done it again, Steven Gerrard, he’s done it again”.
And finally, Paddy Power posted this on twitter, although I suspect it wasn’t sung – if it was all well and good, but it made me chuckle:” Steve Gerrard Gerrard, his passes go 40 yards, he slips on his fucking arse, Steve Gerrard, Gerrard.”
