Just when you thought the nonsensical cycle of transfer gossip had concluded, we’ve got more to fire your way!
Chelsea has enjoyed a relatively successful history of purchasing players from FC Barcelona, and according to the Daily Mirror, we’re vying for the signature of one of their prized assets.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City are all allegedly battling for the signature of Barca’s highly rated youth prospect, Abel Ruiz.
The 17-year-old currently plays for Barcelona’s B team, and he’s a member of the Spanish under-seventeen squad. It is believed that the Spaniard has a £3M release clause in his contract and the teenager is reportedly keen to depart the Nou Camp in pursuit of first-team opportunities.
Those opportunities are seemingly scarce at our club, yet that’s another issue for another day.
It will be interesting to see how this story progresses as we approach the January transfer window.
