Here’s our starting eleven to face AS Roma in the Champions League.

Following our shocking and frankly embarrassing defeat to Crystal Palace, the Roma game on Wednesday night represents greater significance in the context of our season.

Despite having not scored a single goal or having attained a single point this season (before Saturday’s game), the Blues were widely anticipated to dictate proceedings and dominate the game at Selhurst Park.

Nonetheless, much to our apparent displeasure, the Eagles orchestrated a wholly uncharacteristic performance to shock the Premier League champions to register their first three points (and first goals) of the campaign.

Roy Hodgson’s team opted to utilise their pace through the likes of Wilfried Zaha and Andy Townsend, and subsequently, we endured great difficulty in containing and negating the threat that they posed in attack.

Here’s the starting eleven that we think Conte should field against the Italian giants on Wednesday.

GK: Thibaut Courtois

Despite a disappointing display against Palace, Courtois will resume duties in goal.

CB: Antonio Rudiger

Our talented German is poised to play against his former team.

CB: Andreas Christensen

The Danish international has been in superb form this season; he deserves a start against Roma.

CB: Cesar Azpilicueta

Following an uncharacteristic display against Palace, Dave should have the chance to start against Roma.

LWB: Marcos Alonso

The Spaniard is our sole option on the left flank.

CM:  Tiémoué Bakayoko

Due to our precarious injury situation, the Frenchman will play alongside Fabregas again.

CM: Cesc Fabregas

Fabregas and his magic hat was one of our better performers on Saturday.

RWB: Davide Zappacosta

Following Moses’ injury, the Italian will deputise in the Nigerian’s absence.

LW: Eden Hazard

In an untimely manner, the Belgian went missing against Palace.

ST: Alvaro Morata

There are whispers that the Spaniard could return for the Roma game.

RW: Pedro

The Spaniard tends to score important goals for the Blues.
