A relatively experienced Chelsea line-up proved too much for the MK Dons in the Checkatrade trophy.

For many supporters of the MK Dons, there indelible 4-0 triumph against Manchester United will remain their finest footballing memory. No such embarrassment ensued for Chelsea’s development side who triumphed 4-0 at the Stadium MK.

To MK Dons’ credit, they were tasked with the challenge of negating the presence of a handful of first-team members who were all intent on making a purposeful impact.

Eduardo, Ethan Ampadu, Kyle Scott, Kenedy, Charly Musonda and Michy Batshuayi all started for the Blues, with the latter responsible for scoring three of Chelsea’s four goals on the night.

Batshuayi opened the scoring with a thunderous attempt that nestled in the bottom corner, and the undisputed king of Twitter doubled our advantage before the break with a neat first-time finish courtesy of a Kenedy cross.

Callum Hudson-Odoi provided the Blues with our third goal of the evening, Sietsma in the MK Dons goal spilt his long-range effort.  Musonda interlinked with his fellow compatriot, Batshuayi to score the last goal of the game.

The Blues have progressed to the round-of-16.
