A look at Stoke City ahead of our forthcoming league fixture against the Potters.

Stoke City have endured a difficult start to their Premier League season, and they’re currently situated in 13th place in the division.

In truth, their league standing clouds the difficulty that Mark Hughes’ side have experienced in England’s top flight. They have only won five out of their 20 league games this season, and even though Stoke are five places above the relegation zone, just three points separates them from the drop.

In addition to their woeful domestic form, the Potters flaunt the undesired status of having the worst defence in the Premier League. Astonishingly, Stoke have conceded a staggering total of 41 goals in 20 league games, an average of more than two goals conceded per game.

The form book would suggest that Chelsea should win the game comfortably. However, Mark Hughes has demonstrated his capacity to cause an upset on numerous occasions throughout the entirety of his managerial career.
