A look at the Gunners ahead of our forthcoming Premier League game.

The story so far

Typically, Arsenal have been incredibly inconsistent in the league this season. The Gunners are currently situated in fifth position in the table, having amassed 38 points from a possible 63. Arsene Wenger’s team are unbeaten in their previous six league games. However, four of those games have been draws.

Their issues have primarily been defensive in the division this season, the North London team have conceded a total of 26 goals in 21 games – an average of more than a goal conceded every game. By contrast, we’ve conceded 14 goals in 21 league games.  They’ve also incurred five league defeats this season; the most recent was inflicted by Manchester United in a 3-1 loss at the Emirates Stadium.

Best player

Alexis Sanchez’s status as Arsenal’s best player is indisputable, he is the North London equivalent of Eden Hazard, and the Chilean has been impressive form once again for the Gunners this campaign. The statistics website, Whoscored, have rewarded the Chilean with a commendable 7.38 rating for his performances in the Premier League this season.

The 29-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, has contributed to ten league goals this term. He has scored seven of those goals and registered a decent total of three assists. Rather infamously, the Chilean star gave Arsenal the lead in a contentious manner in their FA Cup final triumph against us last season. Here’s hoping that we keep the forward quiet this season.
