Conte is pleased with his summer signings.

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has been discussing the significance of new signings Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater. Our impassioned Italian manager has expressed how pleased he’s been with the impact that the pair have made since completing their respective moves to the Premier League champions.

Following the departure of Nemanja Matic to Manchester United, the need for midfield recruitment was apparent.  Accordingly, the Blues opted to sign Bakayoko and Drinkwater to accompany Kante and Fabregas as Conte’s midfield options.

Conte has been discussing with chelseafc.com

‘Compared to last season, we changed players. We bought two central midfielders, Bakayoko and Drinkwater,’

‘For the characteristics of our players, to play with three midfielders is a good option. For me to be able to alternate two different systems, 3-4-3 and 3-5-2, is great.

‘When we play against a big team, it’s very important to have more solidity with the three midfielders and two strikers, and to give more freedom to Eden.’
