We’re taking a statistical look at things…

Having experienced a period of rejuvenation over the course of recent weeks, the Blues failed to maintain their form as they were defeated 2-1 by Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The defeat now leaves Chelsea positioned fifth in the Premier League table, two points adrift of Tottenham Hotspur who occupy fourth place and six points short of the Red Devils in second.

Chelsea took the lead thanks to the in-form Willian. The Brazilian seized upon Eden Hazard’s pass, and he produced a magnificent strike past David De Gea in the United goal.

However, as has been the case in big games this season, the Blues were unable to maintain their lead. Former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku equalised for Mourinho’s side before Jesse Lingard secured victory with 15 minutes remaining in the game.

We’ve decided to use Whoscored to determine Chelsea’s best three players against United.
