Nostalgia at its finest!

Chelsea have confirmed that a legends match will be played between the Blues and Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge on the 18th of May.

The game will see the team of 1998 – who won three trophies together – reunite to battle against Inter Milan.

During that campaign, Chelsea were victors in the League Cup, Cup Winners’ Cup and the Super Cup. Inter Milan had their own success to cherish as they beat divisional rivals, Lazio, 3-0 in the UEFA Cup.

All proceeds from the game will be donated to the Chelsea Foundation, and tickets are currently on sale to season ticket holders.

Chelsea great, Graeme Le Saux, reviled his excitement ahead of the game.

‘All the players I spoke to were really excited about the prospect of playing together again and I think it is going to be brilliant.

‘Everybody will want to come off the pitch feeling they have shown themselves in a good light. We are all old professionals and there is a pride in your work, and it is easy to say it is a game we just want to enjoy, but ultimately, if you score the winner, you are going to be delighted!’

Former Inter Milan goalkeeper, Toldo, also disclosed his enthusiasm.

‘This match with Chelsea represents a big game, which is most importantly about charity before and after, but during the game we are always competitive. We will be bringing a strong team and we are looking forward to it.’
