Chelsea legend Kerry Dixon joins Stamford Chidge to try and figure out what went wrong at Watford, can it be turned around against West Brom and whether or not Antonio Conte has a future at Chelsea.

In the aftermath of Chelsea’s first back to back defeat of 3 goals since 1995, Stamford Chidge and Kerry Dixon discuss whether it is the players or should we question Conte’s team selection? Why didn’t he pick Giroud and why did he pick Bakayoko? Should Conte have done more to protect him, as a young player, clearly low in confidence?

With the Press full of speculation and hype; should we ignore it and look at the bigger picture: injuries; transfer shortcomings; in 4th, FA Cup and Champions League and the fact that Conte has said he wants to stay Has Conte lost the plot or have the Board undermined him? Would Kerry rather he was given an opportunity to turn it round or is the relationship between Conte, the Board and the players irretrievably broken.

With West Brom on Monday, Chelsea need a win and a performance and while Kerry is confident that the players are good enough to deliver this, right now they are just as likely to flop. Kerry believes that the absence of two players with presence and leadership can make all the difference to a team short of confidence and in free fall, in his day when Graham Roberts and Peter Nicholas arrived they turned a team who had been relegated in to champions in the space of 10 months.
