The transfer rumours have already returned!

Seemingly, Daily Mirror have won the contest to produce the first summer transfer rumour that involves Chelsea. The Blues have been linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio.

The Spanish playmaker enjoyed a terrific start to the season, yet his involvement has been severely limited in recent weeks.

In 18 La Liga appearances for Los Blancos, the 22-year-old has amassed a total of four goals and four assists. The former Espanyol player achieved a total of ten goals in 38 games, during his first season with Real Madrid. He is valued at £45M by transfermarkt.

Reports have emerged that Chelsea are considering a £120M deal for Asensio. Considering the club’s current transfer policy, it seems unlikely that the Blues will pay the figure above, yet if Hazard does depart in the summer window, then the arrival of Asensio does seem plausible.

Personally, I would love to see both players at the club, yet if Asensio’s arrival would mean Hazard’s departure, I’d much rather keep the Belgian.
