Eden Hazard has lauded the addition of Olivier Giroud.

In an interview with Sky Sports, the Belgian was eager to praise the contributions of Olivier Giroud who made his first Chelsea start in our 3-0 win against relegation-threatened West Brom, on Monday night.

In fact, the French striker assisted Hazard’s first goal of the afternoon, and their link-up play was mightily impressive throughout the hour that Giroud was on the pitch.

It was a superb evening for Hazard, who has scored his sixth goal in as many games for the Blues this season. To date, the 27-year-old has scored 15 goals in 35 games in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s side; he is four goals away from equalling his best total of goals in a season for Chelsea.

If the Belgian can maintain his excellent form, it is conceivable that he’ll surpass twenty goals by the conclusion of the campaign. Here’s what he said about the arrival of Giroud, you can read the full interview here.

“I think he’s a great target man, he has a lot of defenders around him so we are free to play around him, myself, Pedro and Willian.

He’s a good guy, a good target man and he can score a lot of goals. He’s a good point of reference but we have him, we have Alvaro (Morata) and I can also play as a striker.”
