Wise words from Sheva!

In an interview with the Independent, Andriy Shevchenko has rgiven his advice to Alvaro Morata who is currently struggling for goals.

Andriy Shevchenko’s story as a Chelsea player is very similar to that of Morata’s – the Spaniard was signed for £58M from Real Madrid.

The Ukrainian forward joined the Blues for a club record fee, as did Morata and struggled to reach the heights expected of him.

During his first season with the club, Shevchenko scored 14 goals in all competitions, yet only four came in the league. By contrast, Morata has scored 12 goals for the Premier League champions, 10 of which have been scored in the league.

The Spaniard had a superb start to life in England, scoring seven goals in his first seven games. However, the 25-year-old has failed to score since Boxing day – although he did have a legitimate goal ruled offside against United.

Here’s the advice that Andriy Shevchenko has given the striker.

“I’ve seen a lot of him.”

“He’s had a lot of chances. I think you need to improve the finishing when you have chances.

“It’s good when a striker has chances, it’s very positive. You need this for scoring goals and helping the team to win.”
