We’re taking a historical look at our fixtures against Burnley.

Burnley have been enjoying a sensational season in the Premier League. Under the stewardship of Sean Dyche, they have transformed into one of the most accomplished teams in the division.

Currently, the Clarets are situated in seventh place in the league table, only two points adrift of Arsenal in sixth position. Moreover, if Southampton fails to win the FA Cup, Burnley will be participating in the Europa League next season (if they retain seventh place) – they are currently nine points ahead of Leicester who are eighth.

Using 11v11, we’ve decided to have a historical look at our games against Burnley.

There have been 95 meetings between the Blues and the Clarets. Chelsea have been triumphant on 34 occasions, while Burnley have registered 38 victories – the remaining 23 games were draws.

Our most recent encounter, resulted in a Burnley victory, a 2-3 triumph against the nine men of Chelsea. Before that loss, we had amassed a six-game unbeaten run against Dyche’s side – registering four victories.

Here’s hoping that we record another win tomorrow.
