It seems that the 24-year-old is on the verge of returning to action for the Blues.

According to the London Evening Standard, as cited by Sports Mole, Ross Barkley is set to play some role against Burnley on Thursday night.

Without question, Barkley has endured a difficult start to his Chelsea career since joining from Everton for £15M in the January transfer window.

In fact, the former Toffee has only managed three appearances in a Chelsea shirt – just one of those were in the Premier League.

He has been blighted by injury and was absent for nine matches due to a hamstring injury. Nonetheless, it is reported that the Englishman has trained without any problems and he’s due to feature against Burnley in some capacity.

The Blues have been severely lacking in goals from midfield, perhaps Barkley is the man to conclude our goal-scoring woes?
