Should Marco van Ginkel be in the Chelsea squad next season?

A question that has been on the lips of Chelsea supporters this week.

The Chelsea ‘loan army’ is one of the most contentious issues in football. Several players have been signed and ruthlessly discarded by Chelsea, yet sometimes as has been testified by Courtois and Christensen, there’s a way to breakthrough.

One of the most talented players who are currently away from Stamford Bridge is Marco Van Ginkel. His time at the club has been severely hampered by injury, and he experienced a couple of fruitless loan spells at Stoke and Milan.

However, since joining PSV, he has experienced a sudden rejuvenation, and he’s captained them to their second successive league title. The 25-year-old has been in tremendous form for the Dutch side this season, contributing to 18 goals – scoring 14 and providing four assists.

He has scored 16 goals in all competitions this season, and his presence would correct one of the leading issues that the club are experiencing. Tiemoue Bakayoko is Chelsea’s highest scoring with two goals in the division.
