An interesting link has emerged from the rumour mill.

According to Premium Sport, as cited by the Daily Star, AC Milan could be forced to sell their 19-year-old goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Thibaut Courtois has been continuously linked with a move away from the club, and Chelsea’s poor season could force the 26-year-old to seek pastures new.

Accordingly, it would be sensible that Chelsea would target AC Milan’s goalkeeper as a prospective replacement for Thibaut Courtois, if the Belgian opts to leave the Blues in the summer transfer window.

Donnarumma is valued at £40M by transfermarkt, and his signature would command a hefty investment while considering that he signed a new four-year contract only ten months ago.

Nevertheless, Milan’s acknowledgement that they could be forced to sell one of their prized assets may provide Chelsea with greater confidence if they’re required to replace Thibaut Courtois.
