It has been a frustrating summer for Chelsea supporters, but, at long last, we’ve solved our managerial situation.

As was confirmed by the club’s official website, Maurizio Sarri joins the club on a three-year deal, and he succeeds Antonio Conte as the club’s new head coach.

The 59-year-old has switched the blue of Napoli for the royal blue of Chelsea, and during his time at Naples, he revitalised the team and transformed them into genuine title challengers.

Sarri is regarded for his enterprising brand of attacking football, and it’s likely that we’ll witness a noticeable change in the club’s playing style over the course of pre-season.

Upon his arrival, Sarri outlined his delight at joining the club.

‘I am very happy to be coming to Chelsea and the Premier League. It is an exciting new period in my career.

‘I look forward to starting work and meeting the players on Monday ahead of travelling to Australia, where I will be able to get to know the squad and begin our match action.

‘I hope we can provide some entertaining football for our fans, and that we will be competing for trophies at the end of the season, which is what this club deserves.’

Our director, Marina Granovskaia also revealed the club’s delight with the appointment.

‘We are delighted to welcome Maurizio and are looking forward to him bringing his football philosophy to Chelsea.

‘Maurizio’s Napoli side played some of the most exciting football in Europe, impressing with their attacking approach and dynamism, and his coaching methods significantly improved the players at his disposal.

‘He has plenty of experience in Serie A and the Champions League, and we know he is relishing the chance to work in the Premier League.’

What are your thoughts? Are you happy with the appointment? Let us know!
