With Thibaut Courtois seemingly heading to Real Madrid and priority target, Alisson Becker, heading to Liverpool in an apparent world-record deal, Chelsea remain in the market for a new number one goalkeeper.

Sky Sports journalist, Kaveh Solhekol revealed that the Blues are considering re-signing club legend, Petr Cech.

The likelihood of a return has increased following Arsenal’s transfer of Bernd Leno. Leno, 26, is surely the future at the North London club, having signed a five-year contract with the Gunners.

Unanimously, Cech is a club legend, having made 494 appearances during an eleven-year affiliation. The crowning glory of his Chelsea career undoubtedly came on THAT night in Munich on May 19th 2012 in which a legendary performance saw Chelsea become Champions League winners, defeating Bayern on penalties.

Not only does Cech have a Champions League winners medal to his list of accolades at Chelsea, he also has four Premier League titles, three League cups, two Community Shields and a Europa League title. Since his transfer to Arsenal in the summer of 2015, he has won one FA Cup and two Community Shields.

At the age of 36, Cech is surely a short-term stop-gap as Chelsea look for a long-term successor to the outgoing Courtois.

Should Cech return? Let us know!
