Tiémoué Bakayoko is subject to a loan offer from Italian giants, A.C. Milan according to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia.

It is expected that Milan want Bakayoko on loan with an option to buy ahead of the 2019/2020 campaign.

Bakayoko, 23, only joined Chelsea last summer in a £40 million deal from then French champions, A.S. Monaco. The Frenchman’s contract does not expire until the summer of 2022 so Chelsea will command a hefty transfer fee should Bakayoko depart permanently in the near future.

Bakayoko made 43 appearances in all competitions last season in what was a difficult debut season at the Bridge. During this time, he scored three goals, whilst assisting three. Bakayoko’s first goal came in September 2017 during the 6-0 demolition of Azerbaijani side, Qarabag in matchday one of the Champions League group stage.

Bakayoko starts Wednesday’s International Champions Cup friendly against Ligue 1 side Lyon at Stamford Bridge. However, his future remains uncertain. Chelsea have several options in the centre of midfield with Head Coach, Maurizio Sarri, adopting a 4-3-3 formation. Jorginho and N’Golo Kante cover two of the positions so that leaves the aforementioned Bakayoko, along with Cesc Fabregas, Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

This is not to mention the potential arrival of Croatian midfielder, Mateo Kovacic. Kovacic could be joining on a season-long loan from Real Madrid. Madrid believe this would help speed up Thibaut Courtois’ (inevitable) transfer to the Bernabeu.

Is Sarri right to let Bakayoko go out on loan? Has he got a Chelsea future?
