Ruben Loftus-Cheek enjoyed a fruitful loan spell with Crystal Palace last season, and a rewarding World Cup campaign with England. Now, the 22-year-old is poised to fight for his chances at Chelsea and force his way into Maurizio Sarri’s team.

According to the Telegraph, as cited by the Metro, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is poised to stay at the club for the remainder of the season, despite loan offers from foreign teams. The 22-year-old has rejected a potential move to Schalke, and it’s believed that Maurizio Sarri is keen to have the Englishman in his squad.

Loftus-Cheek, who made 25 appearances for Crystal Palace last season, opted to cut his holiday short in an attempt to impress our newly-appointed manager. He also featured in our opening game of the Premier League season, replacing Ross Barkley in our 3-0 triumph against Huddersfield Town. He is valued at £16.2M by transfermarkt.

While considering our involvement in both domestic cup competitions, and in the Europa League, it’s likely that Loftus-Cheek will have several opportunities to impress this season.
