In his latest article for the Fancast, @thecfc150 discusses who should become Chelsea’s next captain.

Maurizio Sarri is conducting his best Hazard impression from 2012, creating deepening suspense around the club’s latest hot topic. This time, the choice between Cesar Azpilicueta & Eden Hazard for the prophetic role of club captain.

Both offer contrasting portrayals of a typical captain. Cesar serves as more of the boisterous type, which is often seen by many as more ‘captain’ material. Conversely, Eden represents more of a ‘pacesetting’ stereotype, moving the group forward with his ability and lofty expectations, as seen with the Belgium national team.

Since ‘Captain, Leader, Legend’ John Terry left the club in 2017, Chelsea have never effectively replaced him. Cahill and currently Azpilicueta have somewhat ‘filled’ in, without the same jurisdiction. With the club spearheading into the ‘Sarriball’ era, it’s time to see who the Lieutenant of the group will be moving forward…

Who do YOU think is the right choice for Captain? Let us know!
