Chelsea was founded over a century ago at Stamford Bridge, serving as its exclusive residence. Some of the finest players in English football have played in this stadium. The question on every fan’s mind right now is how far Chelsea will get in the Europa League and what the best Europa League picks will be.

Or maybe it’s if Chelsea will win the Premier League this year? Either way, one thing’s for sure, Chelsea fans all agree that their favourite team has always had fantastic players making history yearly. The ferocious lion is securely situated in the centre of the Blues’ club peak, filling their supporters with pride.

Join us as we look into some of Chelsea’s all-time legends.

Frank Lampard

According to information from the Chelsea Legends profile, Lampard is one of just nine midfielders who have scored more than 150 Premier League goals. It’s no wonder that Lampard has transitioned into management, given his unmatched soccer intelligence. Frank heads the greatest Chelsea legends list.

John Terry

One of the legendary Chelsea defenders who graduated from the youth to senior ranks is John Terry. His debut was against the Aston Villa team in a League Cup game at age 17. Premier League championships, FA Cups, League Cups, Europa League, and most crucially, a Champions League final versus Manchester United were all won by Chelsea under Terry’s guidance.

Terry was chosen for FIFPro World XI for five straight seasons and was awarded UEFA’s Club Defender of the Year three times. He also received the PFA Players’ Player of the Year honour. The defender was also well-known for his goal-scoring prowess; with 41 goals for the Blues, he holds the club record for most goals scored.

Gianfranco Zola

Gianfranco Zola is one of the critical players who made a huge team contribution. He had a significant influence during his first year with the team, which helped the team win the FA Cup. In his first season, Zola added Player of the Year to his already strong résumé. In the 2019 encounter between Chelsea legends and Real Madrid, Zola served as an attacking force.

Didier Drogba

Drogba, who joined the Blues in 2004 after being acquired from Marseille for £24 million, struggled early on. He was never productive; he only scored more than 20 goals twice in a season for Chelsea.

He made a name as a vital component in the squads that won the FA and Champions League Cups. Drogba is a blues icon like John Terry, who discovered repentance after finding success in 2012.

Petr Cech

Cech’s regarded as directly responsible for Chelsea’s success in the twenty-first century. He joined Chelsea in 2004 and was instrumental in their victories in the Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup, four Premier Leagues, and three League Cups.

Cech stopped two penalties in the shootout after saving a penalty in extra time to help Real Madrid defeat Bayern Munich in the Champions League final. After all of the club’s Premier League victories, Cech was crucial to the team’s pursuit of the elusive Champions League victory.

The Legend Tours

From FIFA 22, Chelsea legends will receive new identities as the team builds on its recent success. The club has been hosting amazing Chelsea legends tours for over 20 years. These tours have included appearances by the greatest Chelsea legends, including Peter Osgood, Kerry Dixon, Gianfranco Zola, and many others.
