Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Jonathan Kydd and Dan Levene to discuss the ‘cauldron of hate’, a 6 pointer win and all of the fall out regarding the dismissal of Jose Mourinho.

4725256What a mad old week. Eugene finally wielded the axe and Jose Mourinho – the best manager in Chelsea’s history was sacked with the club 1 point away from the relegation zone. Right decision? Only time will tell. The immediate effect was a far better performance against Sunderland on Saturday and a much needed 3 points, but the game seemed almost secondary to the atmosphere in the ground which whilst not quite as toxic as some had feared certainly left the players and board in no doubt how the supporters felt about their part in Jose Mourinho’s downfall. For me, the blame should probably be apportioned equally, but what leaves me hurting most is the untimely reminder that we, the Chelsea supporters, are irrelevant when it comes to the egos of overpaid under performing players and managers and self-interested short-termist directors.

On the show tonight we’ll be discussing the reaction to the players by Chelsea fans inside Stamford Bridge on Saturday and we’ll be asking who are the ‘rats’ and does it really matter?

In part two we’ll dissect the departure of Jose Mourinho and ask who is to blame; were the club merely taking care of business and how does Michael Emenalo get away with it.

In part three we will ask does this all mean there are no more heroes anymore when it comes to football and what next for the circus that is Chelsea FC. To wrap up in part four we’ll have the usual round up of Chelsea supporter news.

Stamford Chidge and everyone involved with the Chelsea FanCast would like to wish our listeners a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and successful New Year. Thanks for listening and for all your fantastic support for the show in 2015, including helping us to win our second Best Football Podcast award at the Football Blogging Awards. We’ll be back on Monday January 11th 2016 after a short break for Christmas. Here’s to 2016! Up the Chels!
