Chidge is joined by ChelTel, The Celery Terrorist and Ross to discuss the draw against Birmingham in the FA Cup, predictions for Napoli away and what the future holds for AVB?
The Chelsea FanCast is not a fan of early kick-offs, especially for cup matches. And predictably, Stamford Bridge was both quiet and certainly not full to see a continuation of our recent poor performances. To think that Tim Rolls and Chidge had actually defended AVB when interviewed by BBC Radio 5 Live in the morning! After the latest result, it seems that even Ron Gourlay and Bruce Buck have joined the infamous Chelsea Headshakers!!
Still no pace, creativity or desire until Chelsea managed to score a goal which salvaged what would have been a demoralizing exit from the Cup which has a special place in Chelsea supporters hearts. So, Chelsea live to fight another day, and unlike Arsenal our season is not over and we are still in the FA Cup!
The boys discuss all the ins and outs of the game against Birmingham on the show as well as giving out this week’s Match Awards – the ‘Fannies’ – for Man of the Match, Chant of the match, Guinness and Celery moments. In addition, we look ahead to the Napoli game and debate AVB’s future.
No special guests this week, but we see the welcome return of a good old sing song in the form of “Shall We Sing a Song for You”, another blast from the past in “Don’t Look Back in Anger”, and we read the best of your posts from Facebook and Twitter in “You’re on CFFC”. All this plus we reveal the winners of Neil Barnett’s Perfect 10 competition!
This edition of the Chelsea FanCast is dedicated to Peter Osgood, the King of Stamford Bridge; whose 65th Birthday it would have been on the day we recorded the show.
