Schwarzer made a cracking save – not bad for a player thrown in at the deep end after Cech’s injury, and aswell as keeping his composure through most of the game, this save helped earn us an important draw.

Cahill put in a JT like display (something he is now doing regularly) and putting his body on the line for the cause. The ball came across the penalty area with Costa screaming in to head the ball in the net – but Cahill somehow got his head in the way and the ball ricocheted away to safety.

Torres ploughed a very lone furrow up front all night, but never gave up and he put a shift in. A lovely moment when he received the ball and skillfully turned his man in one movement before setting off for a run at their defence.
