FOUR strikers instead of Drogba for Chelsea

Edinson Cavani

The 27-year-old Uruguayan striker is no stranger to major level European competition, having spent last season at Paris Saint-Germain after three seasons at Napoli. PSG spent a French football record €64.5m on him last season, and are reportedly not keen to parting with him after just one season.

But reports have surfaced that Cavani has informed his agent that he is itching for a Premier League move, much to the delight of England’s top clubs. He enjoyed a productive season, scoring 16 goals in 30 matches for PSG despite playing behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

His ability to play well with other stars (Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi for PSG, Luis Suarez and Diego Forlan for Uruguay) should make him an ideal target for Chelsea, who also wouldn’t mind putting some pressure on Diego Costa to keep his form in top shape. He would be a pricey addition, but may be their best option at this point.
