While signing Drogba would be a splashy move that would undoubtedly spark fan interest, fans would quickly find out that Drogba is a shell of his old self. At 36, the striker simply doesn’t have the skill or athleticism necessary to compete with Premier League back lines on a consistent basis.

Reports say certain Qatari clubs are willing to pay Drogba in excess of £3m in wages should he join one next season; can Jose Mourinho really justify coming close to that for a striker that may not even be the second best striker on Chelsea next season?
