At the start of the second half the Chelsea support commenced a great sustained spell of chanting with a medley of songs including: Who’s that team we call the Chelsea; Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea; Fcuk ’em All; Chelsea Boot Boys followed up by shall we sing a song for you to emphasise the point to the City fans. Great singing and great support.

And talking of great support, the support and affection both given to and received with Frank Lampard at the end of the game was truly superb and pretty emotional – even more so considering he had scored a goal against us. The Chelsea support proved that unlike other clubs supporters who burn their former legends shirts, we at Chelsea do not. As Jose said: “This is England, and this is Chelsea. Chelsea people can never forget what people have done at this club. “

And finally the all too predictable irony of Super Frankie Lampard scoring against us. Absolutely gutting, so very wrong but we all had a horrible feeling it might happen. I for one felt sick when it went in and judging by Frank’s reaction I suspect he did too.
