The Belgian is primed to extend his contract following an impressive start to the new campaign.

According to the London Evening Standard, our Belgian sensation Charly Musonda is poised to negotiate the terms of a new Chelsea deal shortly.

The 20-year-old joined the Champions from Belgian side Anderlecht five years ago, and he also enjoyed a fruitful spell on loan in Spain with Real Betis where he made 24 appearances for the Spanish club.

Despite being recalled from his loan in January, the youngster didn’t make a single appearance for the Blues last campaign.

In fact, our penalty shoot-out defeat to Arsenal in the Community Shield was Musonda’s debut in the iconic blue shirt, and his first start came against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup – a game in which Musonda scored in.

It is believed that Musonda is attracting interest from the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Celtic – all of whom are allegedly monitoring his situation. The paper also reports that Conte is keen to entrust the youngster with greater first-team responsibilities.
