The 17-year-old is poised to feature for the Champions against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup.

The former Exeter star already earned a call-up to the Wales national team. Ampadu was called up by Chris Coleman to the Welsh squad for their games against Moldova and Austria in the World Cup qualifiers.

Ampadu made his debut at the age of 15 for Exeter and made 13 appearances for the League 2 ouftit before departing for pastures new in the summer.

The Welshman has featured for the development side this season, yet it seems that his talent has impressed Antonio Conte who’s consequently named the starlet in Chelsea’s squad for the game against Nottingham Forest.

Our participation in the Carabao Cup is widely recognised as an opportunity to entrust our younger stars with the opportunity to impress. Charly Musonda and Robert Kenedy are expected to start tonight’s game, it is conceivable that Ampadu will feature in some capacity.
