The Englishman will miss our midweek game against Everton in the Carabao Cup!

Antonio Conte confirmed to members of the press that Danny Drinkwater will be an absentee for our game against Everton tomorrow night.

Since signing for the Premier League champions on deadline day, the former Leicester midfielder has failed to make a single appearance for the Blues due to injury. His increased absence could potentially apply more pressure on the likes of Bakayoko and Fabregas, the only two senior midfielders who are fit in Conte’s squad.

Alongside Drinkwater, Victor Moses and N’Golo Kante are also out through injury and Conte has already suggested that he’ll turn towards his younger players in the cup.

The following quotes are from Goal

“I think for the game against Everton, it is impossible to recover for [Danny] Drinkwater. [Victor] Moses needs more time and so does [N’Golo] Kante.

But I think this could be a good opportunity to give a chance to the young player like Charly Musonda, also Kenedy, young players who I think deserve the chance.

They are working very hard, they are improving, and we can see the improvement against Everton which is a tough game. It is important for me, important for the club. We will do this.”
