The Chelsea youngster has been called-up for the Wales national team for their last two World Cup qualifiers.

The 17-year-old impressed on his debut for the Blues against Nottingham Forest in the third round of the Carabao Cup, and he’s currently training with the Wales squad.

This isn’t Ampadu’s first call-up to the Welsh team. Nonetheless, he’s still awaiting his first cap for Chris Coleman’s side. The Wales manager has demonstrated his willingness to entrust his younger stars as Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn made his first international debut last month.

Ampadu was signed from Exeter in the summer having impressed with the League 2 outfit. At the age of 15, the Welshman became the youngest player in history to represent the Grecians. Having made 13 senior appearances for Exeter, Ampadu departed for pastures new during the transfer window, opting to sign with the Premier League Champions. He has featured mostly in our development squad. His future is unequivocally promising!
