A historical look at Chelsea against Everton.

Chelsea against Everton is a fixture that has a propensity to provide entertainment and goals in abundance, especially in recent times.

Our indelible 3-3 draw in the 2015/16 season – in which John Terry scored a dramatic (and contentious) equaliser – serves as the perfect example of the infectious excitement that the game can create.

Throughout the entirety of history, there have been 177 meetings between the two teams; the Blues flaunt 71 victories against the Toffees. We’ve also registered 52 draws against our midweek opposition, while the Toffees have triumphed on 54 occasions.

In our last five fixtures against Ronald Koeman’s team ex-team, we’ve amassed three victories, while drawing one game and also losing one.  Our form against Everton is mightily impressive in our previous three meetings against the Toffees, winning three in succession while also achieving three consecutive clean sheets.  During that time, we’ve amassed a stunning total of ten goals an average of more than three goals every game.

Our cup game against the Toffees resulted in a 2-0 defeat in the quarter-final of the FA Cup in the 2015/16 season when a Romelu Lukaku-inspired Everton terrorised our defence.

Here’s hoping we can prolong our historical dominance against the Merseyside club this Wednesday.
