Oh, Jose!

The story so far

Jose Mourinho’s tendency to thrive during his second season at a club is widely-perceived to the extent that it’s deemed common knowledge. The initial signs from Old Trafford would suggest that the Portuguese manager is primed to extend this propensity.

His Manchester United team occupy second place in the Premier League having attained an impressive total of 23 points from a possible 30. They’ve only been beaten once in the league this season, against Huddersfield Town. Moreover, the Red Devils achieved positive results against both Liverpool and Spurs.

Despite their productive start to the new campaign, they trail Manchester City by five points, and a defeat on Sunday could enhance the Citizens’ advantage to eight points at the pinnacle of the Premier League table.

Best player

While it’s always frustrating to witness a former Chelsea, player thrives at another club; it’s difficult to contest the notion that Romelu Lukaku has been terrific for the Red Devils this season.

The experienced Belgian striker has featured in every single Premier League game for Manchester United this season, and he’s amassed an impressive total of goals during those appearances. During those ten league games, the 24-year-old has scored seven goals while also providing three assists for his team-mates.

We’re all accustomed with his proficiency in front of goal. Thus, we must ensure that his service is severely restricted on Sunday. Accordingly, it could be sensible for David Luiz to utilise his physicality in attempt to negate Lukaku’s presence.
