Gianfranco Zola has revealed that he’s surprised by Morata’s consistency in an interview with ESPN.
Club legend and 90’s icon, Gianfranco Zola has expressed his astonishment at the consistency that Morata has displayed since joining the club.
Alvaro Morata has made a mightily impressive start to his Chelsea career having scored seven goals in ten league games for the Premier League champions. The 25-year-old has demonstrated his ability to contribute significant goals having scored against Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.
In all competitions, the former Real Madrid forward flaunts a total of eight goals in 15 appearances which is indicative of the purposeful start he has made to life in England. The facet of his game that has impressed Gianfranco Zola the most is his consistency as was revealed to ESPN.
“I knew already from Italy that he had very good qualities, but what is surprising me is his consistency so far.
I’ve always said he’s a very talented player, one of the most skilful with his feet in his position in the world, but what he’s proving in this league is being strong, being determined. Honestly, I didn’t know he had that and it’s good for him, it’s good for Chelsea and hopefully he can continue as he has.”
