Chelsea are reportedly preparing to move for Aleksandr Golovin.

Despite the summer arrivals of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Danny Drinkwater and Ethan Ampadu, the Sun report that the Blues are preparing a move for Russian midfielder Aleksandr Golovin.

It is rumoured that the Champions are prepared to spend £15M on the CSKA Moscow midfielder, who is expected to make a significant impression for Russia in the World Cup.

The report states that Conte could opt to include the 21-year-old in his squad or choose to keep him in Russia for the remainder of the season if Chelsea’s move is successful.

Although Golovin is 21, he has amassed 15 caps for Russia already, and he’s made almost 100 club appearances for CSKA Moscow.

However, it does seem strange that the club are targeting another midfielder when since there are other areas of the squad that require more urgent attention such as LWB.
