A statistical look at Chelsea’s forthcoming fixture against West Ham.

Chelsea’s upcoming Premier League game against the Hammers is characterised with tremendous history. There have been 108 meetings between the two sides, with the Blues triumphing on 49 occasions, there has also been 20 draws, and West Ham United have triumphed in 39 games.

The Blues have been comparatively dominant in the league against the Irons in recent times; they’re undefeated in four of the previous five league games having won three fixtures.  In fact, the Premier League champions have won six of the last ten league fixtures against West Ham.

Nonetheless, the Hammers triumphed against Chelsea in the League Cup last season, and both league games were tight affairs, with the Blues recording successive 2-1 victories at Stamford Bridge and at the London Stadium.

Chelsea will have to be at their best once more to triumph against West Ham on Saturday to apply the pressure on the leaders Manchester City.
