The Blues mean business!

According to a multitude of reports in Italy, Chelsea are closing in on the double signing of Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko from AS Roma.

Some outlets report that a deal could be concluded as soon as Monday or Tuesday, with the Blues keen to augment the options that Antonio Conte has at his disposal.

The acquisition of these players will help reinforce two positions that the Blues have been lacking in numbers, left wing-back and up top.

Emerson Palmieri is a 23-year-old left-back who enjoyed a terrific 2016/17 season with the Italian giants before enduring an ACL injury. The question that lingers is whether the Brazilian born defender can emulate the heights he achieved before his injury?

Edin Dzeko is a familiar name to Chelsea supporters. The Bosnian forward amassed plenty of experience at Manchester City, winning two Premier League titles, and he scored a brace against us in the Champions League for Roma this season.

It appears that these transfers are nearing their completion.
