Fighting talk from a Chelsea favourite!

In an interview with Tianjin Today Evening News, cited by Goal, John Obi Mikel has disclosed that he thinks Chelsea will beat Barcelona in the second-leg of their Champions League tie.

Famously, Mikel was involved in Chelsea’s iconic comeback against Barcelona in the semi-finals of European’s premier club competition. The Blues were 2-0 down at the Nou Camp before they completed a stunning fightback courtesy of Ramires and Fernando Torres.

That draw eventually led to the final of the Champions League, and the rest is history. Mikel believes that the Blues can triumph against the odds once more, and he’ll always be remembered as a favourite during his time with the club.

The 30-year-old made a staggering total of 374 appearances for the club, scoring a total of six goals. During his time with the Blues, he won 11 trophies.

Here’s what he revealed in his recent interview.

“I have been played for Chelsea for 11 years and that comeback I will remember for the rest of my life.

Obviously, I will continue to support Chelsea as always and hopefully they will go through into the next round.

I believe they will knock out Barcelona on their own ground, just like we did in 2012.”
