Promising news on the Courtois situation.

Reports had emerged in the press that Ligue 1 giants, Paris Saint-Germain had held discussions with Thibaut Courtois’ father. It is believed that the Parisian team are eager to upgrade their goalkeeping department, and the Belgian shot-stopper has been identified as one of their key targets.

Nonetheless, Courtois’ agent, Christophe Henrotay has denied that such talks had taken place, calming the nerves of several Chelsea supporters.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for several weeks. The Belgian has previously admitted his admiration for the city, and he used to play in La Liga with Los Blancos’ local rivals, Atletico Madrid.

The Belgian has just over a year remaining on his current Chelsea contract, and there has been little progress over a possible renewal in recent weeks. His agent has left the door open for a move away from Stamford Bridge. The following quotes are from the Week.

“I have never heard of that meeting, if any club is interested, they know what they have to do – find a deal with Chelsea and then talk to me to check my client interest.”
