The youngster has endured a difficult season.

According to the London Evening Standard, Ruben Loftus-Cheek experienced discomfort in his knee during his first training session since recovering from an ankle injury.

The 22-year-old has been injured for the last couple of months, the last time he featured for Crystal Palace was in December. Accordingly, he had returned to Chelsea to try and recover from his injury.

The youngster had been training with Chelsea’s under-23 team with the view of returning to Palace next week. Nonetheless, the Englishman experienced pain during his first training session, further delaying his comeback to the Palace team.

Loftus-Cheek had amassed 32 first-team appearances for the Blues before completing a summer loan move to fellow London rivals, Crystal Palace.

To date, the promising midfielder has attained 17 appearances for the Eagles scoring the single goal. We hope to see the youngster back in action soon!
